At 8 years old Chris began his martial arts journey doing Judo at a local sports hall and competed several times. Chris also trained in Lau Gar Kung Fu, Karate and Muay Thai whilst searching for a martial art that would suit him. He finally settled on boxing, training at the famous Warley ABC gym and then moved to The Lions winning 7 out of 8 bouts along the way.
In 1993, after watching UFC1 and Royce Gracie defeat all of his opponents with relative ease, Chris then wanted to seek out this art
In 2005 Chris found out that Braulio Estima was teaching BJJ at Stevie B’s gym in Acocks Green and immediately went for his first class. He was totally blown away and trained 4 - 5 times a week and worked his way through the belts, which were given to him by Braulio. He attained his Blackbelt from Braulio in December 2017. During this time Chris actively competed at White, Blue and Purple belt winning several competitions including The Gracie Invitational, The British Open, The Bristol open and also The Northern open.
